Even if this game turns out to be just as great as Renegade with higher detail and a different story line and so forth, I think that a lot of us that might still play or will return to play don't have computers that can handle these new games.  I'm not speaking for everybody, or maybe even the majority, obviously, but I know that there's a chunk of us that probably won't be able to run it effectively for online play.

I shouldn't have to remind you that the majority of people did not have high hopes for Renegade. When you remember that, it seems just a little cynical of anyone on this forum to just flat out say the game is going to suck. I mean, sure Westwood isn't going to be making this game, but EA has had a few years to familiarize themselves with the Command and Conquer series(CnC3), a few great online fps games(BF2) and a few flops(Crysis), so who really knows what's going to happen with this until we get the first hands-on with this particular game.

The possibility of this game being anything like ren is pretty much zilch. It may suck it may not. I just people don't get their hopes up for a "renegade 2" Its gunna be set way far ahead there will probably be 3 races just like cnc3 and it will work more like quake wars and battlefield imho. That is just a hunch though you never know EA may pull something of their ass and make it a great game that surpasses our expectations.

If there's no C&C multiplayer mode like in Renegade then it will be an insta-flop, no question.

There r alot of rlly good games that have just team deathmatch style and the like, so it will flop if they stick to that style.

First look at gameplay and stuff. It's all spread out through the episode. It actually looks pretty good. They didn't really say much about the multiplayer they just called it a "conquer" mode which gives me a little hope.

It looks like it will be fun to play, assuming you comp doesn't suck to much (like mine). Seeing as they aren't saying anything about the multiplayer it probably won't be anything like renegade.

When asked what they learned from renegade the awnser is pretty much that they should use AWESUM GFX!!1! to realistically portrait the C&C universe....... What a fucking disappointment, I guess they didn't learn anything after all >_<

The squad system sounds a bit like Brothers in Arms to me, though with less options, which can be good or bad depending on what you like. ("Phew not to much micromanagement, now LETS BLOW STUFF UP!" or "OMG why can't I just have those 2 guys from the squad outflank them!") TBH I don't see why they'd not go with some more micromanagement options, as most people buying this game will probably be C&C fans, so no haters of some unit management, but yeah, something to be said for either way I suppose.

The single player looks kind of fun, though not revolutionary, I'll probably give it a try.
What I'm really interested in though, is the multiplayer, which they unfortunatly didnt say much about :( A conquest mode sounds pretty cool though, assuming it's like a conquest mode like you'd have in Unreal Tournament for example.

Can't wait to see some more stuff :)

They are creating a new generation, based in the C&C Universe. I'm not even getting my hopes up that it will be anything like Renegade. I mean come on, there isn't even a third-person view.  The display on the rifle is really cool though. It has a Duke Nukem, 007 Half-Life DM feel to it. The command about being a thousand feet in the air directing troops gives you an idea of whats to come in the RTS area. I'll probably base my opinion on the beta or demo. That will at least give you a feel for the gameplay.
