Don't use two screens. There is not even wide screen support. If you try to get higher resolutions, your hud gets all stretched out

Don't use two screens? but its so useful :(

i found a method to force windowed mode so that works kinda... but they really ought to do something about it.

I read somewhere they purposefully haven't added certain support to stop others gaining advantages...

yeah thats true, they think that widescreen and duel monitors allow you to see more (well yeah ofc :P) so think its not fair
Although in my opinion having a widescreen monitor is no different to someone having a brand new graphics card running a game at 60FPS constantly, and someone with an old card running at 10 FPS having a hard time shooting, oh well EA logic for the lose

It does let you see more. The 3d engine does not get stretched so everything looks normal. Only your hud and text on it gets stretched out. So you can have a 180 degree fov. Try it out, pick up a weapon and go into scope mode on a normal resolution, then go widescreen. You can now see the to the right and left of the scope instead of having tunnel vision and just black areas around the scope.

DirectX doesn't support dual-screen, so you can't simply stretch a game window across your desktop. The game itself must support dual-screen, and I only know of one DirectX game that does, which would be Supreme Commander. OpenGL games, such as Quake 4, should work I think. As far as widescreen goes, the BF games don't support widescreen. You can run the game at widescreen resolutions, but it'll just stretch the video or whatever (I forget how exactly it gets handled).

boo :(

Well i told bf2142 to run in full screen, what happened was my mouse could escape to my partial desktop on the second monitor.  the second monitor showed the centre between the 2 monitors, really odd. also if i clicked there it would be the same as alt tabbing. Once i'm in the game though it works fine and i can kinda position things so i can read irc while playing. on reloading a new map the mouse sometimes gets trapped outside the game...
