those of you who are interested, please reply and include when is the best time for you.

Unless something comes up, either day is fine, but Saturday would be a lot easier for me.  I hope enough people are interested.  Just in case, though, if people would rather play CS:S, I was able to run a dedicated server from my comp for that on Jan 15, so that's a contingency plan.  I'd prefer to play HL2DM though.

Edit: I just remembered that on Friday from 7 to 10 PM PST (-8 hr GMT), I won't be able to play.  If it ends up as CS:S, I could start the server on Friday, but I wouldn't be able to watch over it until after 10 PM.  I could probably give someone the rcon password or something.

Im interested. Not good with time zones though.

5pm cst, what GMT is that?

Im at +10 GMT... if i work out that the time is ok for me i will play. Not sure how well i will go with my ping, considering the only servers i get a ping less than 100 in are australian, but i will play if i can.

cst is -6gmt, so it'd be sometime saturday morning for you i think. if enough non-north american people are interested we can try to schedule it sometime on saturday that would be good for everyone. this is just to gauge how much interest there is right now, we can decide on a time later.

I would be interested to play although perhaps 2 hours earlier might work? It would be more convenient for me. ( 3pm CST - 9pm GMT Friday afternoon - evening )

Would that be possible?

Mylum, sorry to say it, but that wasn't a great idea.  The CD key isn't bound to the computer, it's bound to the Steam account it's installed under.  So, unless you gave him your Steam account information, he won't be able to decrypt it after the installation, and/or Valve might think the CD key is being pirated, which will result badly for one or both of you (account deactivation or worse).  I really hope you gave him your Steam account info.  If you did, there was no reason for you to uninstall HL2 unless you needed the diskspace, because unless you want to play multiplayer simultaneously, one of you can run Steam in Offline Mode and not have to worry about Valve picking up a duplicate CD key from two different locations.  (You activate Offline Mode by unplugging your ethernet cord before logging in.  They said there's another way by hitting the cancel button during login, but that hasn't worked for me yet.)  So get your darn CD back!
