You'll have to code it in python, not mIRC. I doubt EA will allow a copy of mIRC to run on ranked servers.
Python is 1000 times more powerful than mIRCscript, btw...

This is either a) a glitch (most likely case) or B) a dll hacker (unlikely but possible)...

From the horse's mouth about htpord/htbord:

Nope thats a guy that has real issues with us. been hacking us for a long time and likes to POSE as ford... hench Poser ford = pord... In any case this is not one of our people. But BC knows this. as he is on the ban list we recently provided...

in any case I have his IP banned as this is not one of our peeps... and has at all times been disruptive when he was allowed to play...

The former: currently the only good approach is to use check what map the server is hosting currently using the Server_Get_Map function sometime on an entity creation or elsewhere.  The later: you're going to have to figure something out there.
What entity should I use?  Is there like a Dave's Arrow somewhere in the WW maps or something that map-startup and map-shutdown scripts could be attached to?  And, to solve the latter...just use the chat hook in SSAOW 1.4!

RenLua questions:  How do I attach scripts to the map itself? (I'm trying to re-do the Gamelog concept in RenLua as the existing Gamelog can't log players joining and leaving the server...) Or, for a REAL challenge, how do I have a RenLua function get called whenever a player types something in f2/f3/ppage?

My favorite unit to snipe with:  the arty :p     B) it can kill anything short of an orca/apache (however, most people don't know how to use it)

arty+scope=headshot all the way (B00M) (paraphrase from MPDudley)

And they shook hands.

RenLUA is an extension to the RenDEC library I wrote before.  With RenLUA, the customization that was present in the C++ atmosphere of RenDEC has been translated to simple Lua scripts using the Lua Scripting Engine.

Lua scripts are external scripts written in Notepad that are comparable to mIRC scripts.  They work in runtime and you do not need to know how to program in C++ to work them.  All you need is Notepad and a little bit of time.

On top of this, I have taken the time to write out the RenLUA Developers Network - a Wiki site that has complete documentation on all 230+ available functions, calls, and routines within the RenLUA library.  It also has a "Quickie LUA" tutorial for beginners to get a grasp on scripting in Lua, as well as "How To" articles that show off what you can do in RenLUA and external references to outside tutorials for Lua.

Both the library files and the source code are available for download.

"I have given you the tool, create."
Lua, I assume, is a scripting language on the caliber of Python or Perl5, (or ANS FORTH under FICL), right?

Thanks, but please don't reveal unfixed exploits.
Then you have round-off problems if someone donates an obnoxiously big number...float's can only hold like 6-8 decimal places, double's 14-15...verdict...use an arbitrary precision integer type (a la GNU MP)...or if that's not available, use long longs

Everybody knows snipers own any sort of vehicle.
My med > ur 1000 sniper...:P
I'd actually rather have the sakura. What if it has a pic, and remotes. Then med go boom :P
keep in mind that I've killed plenty of unlucky havocs with a mobart...:P

C&C: Renegade / fps problem
« on: February 14, 2006, 01:04:18 PM »
To addon to Weeble's post, does anyone else get an FPS around 2 for no reason?

I'm on a 6600GT with the latest officially released drivers and Renegade feels the need to murder itself by dropping the FPS to 1-2, but it's not a blue hell, infact I can move and the fps slightly rises then drops again.

And to respond to Weeble's post, have you tried all the usual steps? I.e. latest drivers, nothing is overheating, no parts failing etc?
I have a 6600GT and I don't get that issue...try cleaning ur GPU fan?

Dragonade and DragonServ / Squad System
« on: February 11, 2006, 02:54:18 AM »
Speaking of squad abilities, how about giving squads:
1) a 5% health/armor increase ON TOP of what vet/elite/legend get
2) a special ability that is
i) character specific
ii) can only be used once in a 30-second period
iii) may have other restrictions
iiii) is invoked through the 'b' key

(Ideas for special abilities:  500 snipers can call a target out to their teammates, officers can call in a mini-supply cr8, techs/hotties can build ceiling guns, and Gunners get tracking rockets...there are probably others in this vein (LCG gets a burst mode that does enhanced damage but requires a cooldown and uses like 50 ammo/shot?)  (APC's can eject all of their passengers at once?)
